Introduction

Salat ("we", "our", or "the app") is a prayer times and Quran reading application. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.

Information We Collect

Location Data

Salat requests access to your device's location to:

• Calculate accurate prayer times for your area
• Determine the Qibla (direction of the Kaaba) for the compass feature

Your location data is processed entirely on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers or shared with any third party. The last known location may be cached locally on your device to provide faster loading on subsequent app launches.

Analytics & Crash Reports

We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports. This data helps us improve app stability and understand how features are used. The data collected includes:

• App usage patterns (e.g., screens visited, features used)
• Crash logs and error reports
• Device type, operating system version, and app version

Permissions

The app requests the following permissions:

• Approximate Location (Coarse) — To calculate prayer times and Qibla direction based on your area. The app does not request precise (GPS) location.
• Notifications — To send prayer time reminders and adhan alerts.
• Exact Alarm — To schedule precise prayer time notifications.
• Internet — To fetch Quran data and send anonymous crash reports.
• Boot Completed — To reschedule prayer notifications after device restart.

All permissions are optional. The app will function with reduced features if permissions are denied.

Data Storage

All user data (prayer settings, reading progress, preferences) is stored locally on your device. We do not maintain any external database of user data. No account creation or sign-in is required to use the app.

Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase Analytics — Anonymous usage analytics
• Google Firebase Crashlytics — Crash reporting

These services have their own privacy policies governing data they collect.

Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The app does not require account creation or any personal data input.
